Gunther Uk Ltd logo
Established in the UK in 1988 as the sole agent for Gunther Heisskanaltechnik GmbH, Gunther UK has been supplying high quality precision products from 4 German manufacturers ever since, which has enabled us to become one of the leading hot runner suppliers in the injection moulding and tool making industry in the UK and Ireland.

In addition to products that are at the top end of the market, we also offer full advice, service and support to maximise the customers’ moulding operations. Using our dedication to UK-based service back-up, we have built an enviable reputation in all market sectors of the injection moulding industry – medical, automotive, packaging, household and electrical to name just a few.

Since our early beginnings, we have striven for improvement and have developed our product portfolio so that we can meet all the customers’ tooling needs, thus becoming a ‘one-stop shop’ for you.
Gunther hot runner technology

Günther are a market leader in the manufacture of high quality precision Hot Runner Systems for moulds with 1 to 128 (and more) cavities. Able to process materials ranging from commodity plastics to even the most difficult technical polymers, the Gunther range incorporates hydraulic, pneumatic and electric valve gate systems, innovative side gate solutions in various designs and even systems for micro moulding applications as well as standard tips in different sizes. All nozzles feature the unique patented bi-metallic shafts which the Gunther name was built on.

The Günther Hot runner System has an innovative and patented bi-metallic titanium shaft at the core of its technical advantages over other systems which minimises heat transfer from hot runner nozzle to mould tool but which additionally gives a perfect seal in the tool. Both open and valve gate systems are available for single or high cavity production moulds as systems only or as completed hot halves. Other innovations include the new ‘Blue flow®’  heater technology (www.blueflow.de) giving a slimmer and more energy efficient hot runner nozzle, special PM inserts for valve gate systems and we were also the first system to offer a plate operated valve gate system, a market sector we remain at the forefront of. Advanced designs of multi tip nozzle and a full selection of hot runner controllers complement the range and we are happy to give you the right advice over which system/design is suitable for you application. Installation and mould trial attendance/assistance are also available via the UK.

Rainer Knarr

In 2011, to further complement our range, we also introduced a specialist range of mould accessories from Rainer Knarr GmbH, a brand that has rapidly become a well-established supplier to the UK and Ireland mould making industries with a vast range of standard mould components. In addition to these (a broad spectrum of industry-standard size ejector pins, pillars, bushes, sleeves and other parts), Rainer Knarr also have the facility to manufacture special parts to customer drawings and specification and are a market leader in the supply of DLC and Cr2N-coated components which are ideal for the medical and food packaging industries as they require no lubricants. Two particular innovations that are also available are patented stepless ejector sleeves and also blade ejectors with 2 or 4 corner radii.

We can manufacture special parts at competitive prices with short lead times and no minimum quantity.

Please call for a catalogue or sales visit or you can visit our web site at www.knarr.com

In 2009, we introduced the name of mould cooling specialist Contura GmbH into the UK and Ireland. Mould cooling is a critical part of the injection moulding process and yet is often overlooked in the product/mould design stage, thus leading to long cycle times or poor plastic parts. However, Contura employs a series of different bonding techniques that can offer a conformal cooling system allowing you to place your water close to the part to have the maximum influence. Furthermore, with a combination of technologies mould cooling specialist Contura-MTC are able to manufacture specialist cores with optimum cooling which can reduce cycle times by as much as 50% (average30%). Aside from the faster cycle, improvements in part quality and cpk values can also be seen. Contura are also at the forefront of the RHC process technology (Rapid Heat and Cool) which is being used to give, for example, high gloss piano black finishes on parts.

It is not uncommon to see a cycle time saving of up to 50% with an average saving of 30%. With these types of savings the costs can be usually be recouped in a matter of months but the benefits can be seen for years. To see how conformal cooling can help you save time and money.

Whilst we do not currently offer standard P plates, we are happy to now offer specially machined plates, to your models from different sources worldwide but still with the comfort of dealing with a quality German company. Available in your specified tool steel these plates can be supplied to tight tolerances with all bores, threads, chamfers etc. machined.
Although German-based, Ferrofacta have extensive links in China to bring cost-effective but high quality specially machined bolsters into the UK and Ireland with delivery times as short as 4 weeks. Their experienced team of designers, toolmakers and service engineers mean that Ferrofacta can offer the complete service.
